A substantially reduced carbon footprint is a feature of the FoundationWorks system. Our system is much gentler on the environment than poured foundations. Not only does our system use less concrete than poured foundations reducing CO2 emissions, but if you ever need to move your home, your foundation can go with you.

Consider the information below:

Concrete usage for FoundationWorks System (footers for piers and perimeter wall): approximately 5 cubic yards for a 28’x66’ home

Concrete usage for slab and stem wall: approximately 50 cubic yards

Lbs. of cement per cubic yard of concrete: 450

Total estimated cement savings (450X50): 20,250 lbs., adjusted for cement in FW System

Estimated ratio of CO2 savings to cement savings: 1 to 1

TOTAL ESTIMATED CO2 SAVINGS per home: approximately 20,000 LBS*

*Note that there could be some reductions in these savings as follows: 1) for Mods the amounts would change by a very modest amount (less that 2%) due to the additional pier/concrete, however, 2) when comparing to a runner and stem wall system, it would be approximately half the amount due to the lesser concrete usage with runners.
